Since today is Nik’s 34th birthday (that heffa don’t look a day over 23, darn her hide!) I thought it would be fun to do another top 5 holiday gift ideas list with a little twist. Y’all know how we love a good twist!
So today’s top 5 is Nik’s Favorite Things that she thinks would make a nice holiday gift. There’s probably someone on your list (or maybe even you!) who’d like these things, too.
Without further ado, in honor of her birthday, here are Nik’s Top 5 favorite things…and you know the girl LOVES to talk so she sent an annotated list!
#5 – A body composition scale
Cuz seriously? I got body image issues BAD. I know how much I weigh but I don’t know how much of that is fat, muscle, water, hot air…? This nifty scale gives you that information. So when I am lamenting that the scale spiked up a pound, I can be assured that it is because I am gaining muscle, not fat!
#4 – Either a food processor or a Stand Mixer!
Can you believe I’ve made it this far in food blogging without one? I have a mini-chopper but a food processor would be lovely. I want to play around with my Atkins mix and make pie crust and such and doing it by hand is not my greatest skill.
I want a stand mixer for many of the same reasons I want a food processor. I have a very old stand mixer that is close to death. It was given to me but I don’t use it that much because it is clunky and not easy to assemble. I want to start baking bread for the divas and once I get my grubby mitts on a sturdy stand mixer, I’m gonna start!
#3 – An iPod Touch
…Because Jen talks about it so much! Not to mention all the extra cool features it has, like all the apps for internet access. Also, I am a gym rat so the music would go to good use. Playlist suggestions are welcome!
#2 – Calphalon Unison Nonstick Cookware Set
Yeah…even in my dreams I didn’t get the whole set. But as long as I’m musing…I keep seeing the commercial with Iron Chef Michael Symon on Food Network. I may invest in a more affordable set of nonstick cookware. Anyone out there who sells Pampered Chef and can hook me up, holla! And if any of you have this set or buy this set…can I come cook for you? I dream of using these just once…
#1 – A comprehensive set of free weights
Currently I have a set of 5 lb. weights and an 8 lb. weighted ball. But if I want to be ripped I have to increase my weights. I belong to the Y and I can do weight lifting there but sometimes my day is just too busy to get there. I’d love to be able to do a good strength workout at home!
So there you have it. Those a few of Nik’s favorite things…she has respectfully requested that you check them out for as a holiday gift for yourself or someone you love!
