My good friend Liz (LizDotCom99 on OH) is a protein snob, and she’s the first to admit it. Over this past year and a few months since her surgery, she has struggled to find a protein powder she liked and would actually drink. She’s one of the few people on Earth I know who doesn’t like Click! (Take a moment to regain your composure, it’s ok, I had the same shocked reaction. Better? Good.)
S’anyway she keeps telling me about these new smoothies in the freezer section at the supermarket, so I had to check them out for myself. We have very similar taste, and Click is one of the few things we disagree on, so I thought I’d probably like it.
I picked one up when I was at Wegman’s yesterday and made it last night for my late night snack. The package makes 2 good sized smoothies, so I only used half. The package calls for 1 cup of milk and the whole package to yield 2 smoothies.
It has frozen fruit and yogurt already in it, you have to add your own protein powder. Liz likes Jay Robb , but I used my usual EAS Vanilla Soy Isolate since I don’t use whey. On an unrelated note, I was whey intolerant early out, which is why I use soy, but I think my body may have adapted. I use boatloads of the Any Whey Unflavored in recipes and have had zero issues.
Plus I was slurping down shake samples made with Body Fortress at the Holiday Preview last Saturday, and no reaction. Pretty cool how your system adapts over time to things, innit? But I digress. Back to the smoothie!

We have tried these too (although not this flavor) and we like them. The yogurt in it really keeps it smooth. We actually have to make each half separately because I can handle 2 scoops protein and my hubby can only handle the taste with 1 scoop… he also likes to make his with juice instead of milk. Crazy man. But I've tasted both versions and they both are good so you can definitely play with this and add whatever you want to it. My only issue is they are pricey for what you're getting. But, you don't have to worry about the fruit or yogurt going bad, and you can easily have it on hand.
Yes! I love me my yoplait smoothie!! And YES…Jen is a sweetie!! IMHO, this needs no added anything…except protein powder of course!! Hope you like it as much as me. It only took me like 15 months of trying EVERY kind of protein concoction til I found something I liked. And to say that I LIKE this is HUGE!! 🙂
I have 2 of these in my freezer I type and keep forgetting to make one! I have issues with shakes in the morning…or anything for that matter. I'm going to try one tonight as my bedtime snack. Thanks for the reminder!
